21-year-old Kentucky Wildcats safety Marcus Walker was reportedly arrested Thursday morning in Lexington on charges of drug trafficking.

The report comes to us via the Lexington Herald-Leader and it’s an absolute whopper.

“Marcus Walker, a 21-year-old junior safety from Lake Wales, Fla., was arrested at 4:40 a.m. Thursday by Lexington Police. He was allegedly trafficking in about 5 pounds of marijuana and 4 grams of cocaine, his arrest citation said. He was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia,” the report read.

The Lexington Police Department also found a large amount of cash at the scene, which led them to arrest Walker on trafficking charges.

“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering more information,” UK team spokesman Susan Lax told the Lexington-based paper.

A reserve for the Wildcats last season, Walker saw action in 12 of the team’s 13 games. He recorded five tackles.

A four-star recruit three years back, Walker chose Kentucky over more-heralded college football programs: UCLA, Tennessee, Michigan State and Florida.
