Former Colts LB Edwin Jackson posthumously awarded college degree at Georgia Southern

Edwin Jackson

On Saturday at Georgia Southern, a touching scene unfolded when the university posthumously awarded a college degree to the late Edwin Jackson.

Jackson is the former college linebacker who turned pro with the Indianapolis Colts who was tragically killed, along with his Uber driver, in a hit-and-run incident last year. A drunk driver hit both men while they were outside their vehicle on the side of the road on an Indiana highway in the middle of the night.

Georgia Southern Football shared an incredibly moving two-minute video on Saturday of Mary and Wesley Jackson, Edwin’s parents, receiving his posthumous degree.

Jackson made it onto the Colts’ roster as an undrafted free agent as a practice squad member in 2015. He then appeared in all 16 games in 2016, earning eight starts while tallying 61 tackles and two sacks.
