One (we assume) very well-off fan doled out a gaudy amount of money for two courtside seats Saturday night at Oracle Arena to watch the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors play in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.
Just how much? According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the fan paid $39,935 for those two tickets, including fees (but not counting parking and any concessions).
For many of us, $40,000 represents around what we’ll see in an entire year. Needless to say, people who can afford that amount for one night of NBA action are in a different league than the average American.
That said, this figure — as large as it is — doesn’t come close to comparing to some insanely expensive tickets we’ve seen people drop money on in recent years.
