David Fizdale not ruling out Joakim Noah returning to Knicks

Joakim Noah

Now that the New York Knicks have hired a new head coach in David Fizdale, there’s a possibility Joakim Noah could be on his way back to the club.

On Tuesday, Fizdale told reporters Noah has reached out to him and, per Ian Begley of ESPN, intimated he’s open to the possibility of Noah returning.

As you likely remember, Noah and former Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek did not get along, which led to Noah leaving the club indefinitely. Many thought that departure was going to be permanent, especially given how ineffective Noah had been for New York. However, the team seems to be leaning the other way now.

Noah is still due to make $37.8 million over the course of the next two years after signing a ridiculously overpriced contract with the Knicks before the 2016-17 season. So, if the Knicks can get anything out of him, that’s the desirable course of action.
