Christian Kirk arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and property damage

Texas A&M receiver Christian Kirk is one of the top players to watch Saturday at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine

Before being selected No. 47 overall by the Arizona Cardinals during the 2018 NFL Draft, receiver Christian Kirk was arrested.

Kent Somers of AZCentral.com reports Kirk has been charged with disorderly conduct and property damage stemming from an incident as Kirk and some friends left the Waste Management Phoenix Open on February 3.

According to Scottsdale Police: “The suspects were intoxicated and leaving the WMPO. As they were walking through a parking lot, security personnel observed them throwing rocks at cars and breaking a window of at least one of them.”

The Cardinals knew about the incident before the draft, however, and did a thorough investigation of their own before making Kirk a part of the organization.

“We spoke with Christian about it at length and also looked into it independently. Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won’t comment further.”

In three seasons at Texas A&M, Kirk caught 234 passes for 2,856 yards and 26 touchdowns.
