CBS officially announces addition of Bruce Arians

Bruce Arians will still be wearing a headset in 2018, but the former Arizona Cardinals coach will be a broadcaster for CBS. The network officially announced the hiring and confirmed Arians’ assignment for the upcoming season.

As previously reported, Arians will join play-by-play man Greg Gumbel and analyst Trent Green to form a three-man booth. Jamie Erdahl will contribute as the sideline reporter on the broadcast team.

Arians, who had also expressed interest in heading to ESPN’s Monday Night Football, retired from coaching after the 2017 season. He’d spent five seasons at the helm of the Cardinals, posting a 49-30-1 record while making two playoff appearances.

Prior to the stint with Arizona, Arians spent 20 years as an assistant in the NFL. While serving as the interim coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2012, he enjoyed a 9-3 mark.
