WATCH: Ohio State crowd honors Ryan Shazier at spring game

Ryan Shazier

Ryan Shazier has a long road to recovery after a terrifying spinal injury that ended his 2017 NFL season, but there’s no question he’ll receive constant support along the way.

While attending his alma mater Ohio State’s spring game Saturday, the crowd gave the former Buckeyes star a standing ovation.

Shazier also served as an honorary captain for the annual Scarlet and Gray Game.

Since the injury, the 25-year-old has made several public appearances, including a pair of notable trips to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins and their pursuit of a third straight Stanley Cup title. He recently led a “Let’s Go Pens” chant.

Shazier will not rejoin the Steelers between the white lines in 2018, but it’s encouraging to see his steady progress — and all of the support for him.
