Nick Saban is known for his stony face and never-stop-working mentality, but every so often he puts those aside and does something you never thought you’d see.
The Alabama football coach did just that on Wednesday, taking part in a “lemon face challenge” for Aubreigh’s Army, which was created by Aubreigh Nicholas, an 11-year-old who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, which is a rare and inoperable brain tumor. The challenge was designed to help spread awareness for DIPG.
Here’s Saban taking a huge bite out of a lemon to help spread the word.
“Our team is so proud to be a part of Aubreigh’s Army as you continue your fight and also your efforts in helping raise awareness for DIPG,” Saban said. “I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we are behind you 100 percent. God bless you and Roll Tide.”
Over 133,000 people have watched this video so far, and hopefully many more will join Aubreigh’s Army because of it. Saban’s involvement certainly cannot hurt. He’s one of the most recognizable men in college sports today, and it’s pretty awesome to see him participate in something like this.
