Report: Tremaine Edmunds a top-10 lock

As much of the football world focuses on quarterbacks, Virginia Tech linebacker has steadily established a place as a likely first-round draft pick. In fact, he’s unlikely to last long on the board.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Edmunds is “a lock” to be selected in the top 10 of the upcoming 2018 NFL draft and could be chosen as high as No. 6 overall.

Edmunds would be an ideal fit at No. 8 for the Chicago Bears, but the Indianapolis Colts hold that No. 6 pick. If he falls past Chicago and Indy, the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders will then consider taking him.

That’s a sensational outlook for Edmunds, considering he doesn’t turn 20 years old until May. But he’s certainly deserving of the attention.

In both 2016 and 2017, the 6-foot-4, 253-pounder collected at least 100 tackles. He totaled 10 sacks, 13 hurries and four forced fumbles during those two seasons.
