Report: Rob Gronkowski won’t attend start of Patriots’ offseason program

Rob Gronkowski

As Rob Gronkowski continues to debate whether he’ll continue playing football or retire, he reportedly will not attend the team’s opening offseason workouts.

The New England Patriots are said to have positive communication with Gronkowski, but he won’t be there Monday when the voluntary workouts commence.

The Patriots have maintained throughout the offseason that they aren’t concerned about Gronkowski’s decision. Owner Robert Kraft recently said he expects Gronkowski to play, and if he does play this year, it will be for New England, which has no intention of trading its start tight end.

There have been a lot of reports that Gronkowski was not happy with the Patriots last year, and that the troubles started in training camp. Still, he ended up starting 14 games for New England, catching 69 passes for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns.
