Trevor Davis made a joke about a bomb at Los Angeles International Airport, and it went about as well as expected.
According to TMZ Sports and confirmed by ESPN, Davis was arrested for making “criminal threats.”
Per TMZ, Davis was at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter with a female companion when an attendant asked the “usual security questions” about their luggage.
And that’s where things took a turn.
“Instead of playing it straight — we’re told Davis turned to the other woman and said, ‘Did you remember to pack the explosives?’ She played along with the joke and said, ‘Yes.'”
The attendant alerted police, who booked Davis before releasing him.
