Report: ‘Multiple’ NFL scouts believe Lamar Jackson will be first-round pick

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of the most intriguing players in the 2018 NFL draft

Despite a wave of negativity surrounding his decision to abstain from using an agent, Lamar Jackson appears to be in great shape to be drafted in Round 1 this April.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald wrote on Monday that “multiple NFL scouts/personnel people telling me they believe Lamar Jackson will be selected in the first round.”

Jackson was recently seen working out with Dan Marino during a visit with the Miami Dolphins, and the Baltimore Ravens are seen as a “sneaky” team that could be in play for the dynamic quarterback.

The Heisman winner in 2016, Jackson brings a tremendous skill set to the NFL. He has perhaps the second-strongest arm in this year’s draft class after Josh Allen, is much more adept at avoiding pressure than any other quarterback coming into the NFL and of course is an athletic freak of the first order.

There was some talk that teams wanted Jackson to move to receiver, but he’s done some things to shut all that talk down. If he’s a first-round pick this year, it’ll be because the team that drafts him sees him as a quarterback, and only a quarterback.
