For quite some time, there’s been a nearly constant stream of reports that indicate the New York Jets will select Baker Mayfield at No. 3 overall. Now, just one day before the draft, the tides appear to have shifted, with Josh Rosen being the player most NFL general managers suspect will be selected.
Until yesterday, @JayGlazer told @ColeWrightNFL, GMs believed Jets had zeroed in on Baker Mayfield. Now most GMs suspect it could be Josh Rosen at No. 3.

This is what is known in NFL circles as lying season, so take all these reports with a grain of salt. After all, nobody had a clue the Chicago Bears would trade up one spot last year for Mitch Trubisky.
Still, given the fact that the top quarterbacks in this class all have some warts of one kind or another, and that all of them are also highly talented, anything can happen. It’s going to be a fun ride when the draft actually begins on Thursday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, and then we can put all the rumors to bed for good. At least until next year.
