Report: Jason Witten still undecided about playing in 2018

Jason Witten

Jason Witten might not retire after all. After a report broke last week that the Dallas Cowboys tight end was hanging up his cleats for a spot in the Monday Night Football booth, ESPN’s Chris Mortenson now reports Witten is still contemplating his future, and that he’s been offered another “interesting” proposal to do television work.

The Cowboys didn’t hide the fact that they were blindsided by the retirement news last week. No doubt, Jerry Jones and Co. have been doing everything in their power to convince Witten to stay.

The team did select a tight end during the draft, taking Dalton Schultz out of Stanford in the fourth round. However, even in his old age Witten, 35, is still highly productive. He hauled in 63 passes for 560 yards and five touchdowns last year. No doubt, the Cowboys would love to keep Witten around for as long as they can.
