Moe Wagner declares for 2018 NBA draft

Moe Wagner helped the Michigan Wolverines reach the 2018 national championship game, and now he’s headed to the NBA.

In an essay on The Players’ Tribune, the German forward announced he’s entering the 2018 NBA draft and will hire an agent. The latter decision officially ends his college career after three years.

Wagner averaged 14.6 points and 7.1 rebounds as a junior, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors and a place on the NCAA All-Tournament team. The Wolverines finished the year as the national runner-up, losing to Villanova in the title matchup.

Michigan also followed up a dramatic run to the conference tournament title in 2017 with a repeat triumph in 2018. Wagner was a steady contributor for both teams.

Considered a borderline first-round prospect, Wagner is highly likely to hear his name called June 21. At 6-foot-10, he’s an ideal stretch 4 in the NBA. He shot 39.4 percent from three-point range over the last two seasons combined.
