Mitch Trubisky takes potshot at former head coach John Fox

2017 NFL Draft, Mitch Trubisky

It’s safe to say Mitch Trubisky is a huge fan of new head coach Matt Nagy and his staff, based on a comment he made on Thursday. What’s just as apparent is that the second-year quarterback is thrilled to have gotten away from former head coach John Fox.

Here’s what Trubisky had to say about his first three days working with the new staff.

Now, we aren’t going to say Trubisky intentionally threw Fox under the bus. Perhaps it was something that wasn’t even on his mind. But this is some serious shade being thrown in the direction of Fox, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and the rest of Fox’s offensive coaching staff.

That Nagy is having a positive impact on Trubisky shouldn’t come as a surprise. We are very optimistic this marriage will produce nothing but good things for the young quarterback, and the offense as a whole.

It’s also not surprising that Trubisky isn’t exactly missing Fox and Co., either. One of the most conservative coaches in the league, he’s never been one to develop young quarterbacks with very much success.
