It’s pretty much Dr. J day around Philadelphia ahead of the Sixers’ game against the Brooklyn Nets. Earlier in the day, the team unveiled a Julius Erving sculpture at its practice facility in Camden, New Jersey.

It’s the sixth sculpture to go up at the facility, joining the likes of Wilt Chamberlain and Billy Cunningham.
For Tuesday night’s game against Brooklyn, fans on hand inside the Wells Fargo Center will get this t-shirt with Erving’s trademark Afro included. It’s pretty awesome, ladies and gents.

Job well done catching the true essence of Erving’s style during his playing days with the Sixers from 1976-1987. During that time, Dr. J led the Sixers to one NBA championship and earned an MVP award.
He’s right up there with the likes of Wilt and Allen Iverson as the greatest player in franchise history. Though, this shirt itself might go down as the GOAT of all giveaways.
