Donte DiVincenzo joins Glen Rice with historic title game performance

Monday night’s National Championship Game featuring Villanova and Michigan quickly turned into the Donte DiVincenzo show. Coming off the bench, the sophomore guard sparked a blowout win for the Wildcats and made a little history in the process.

In the process, he became just the second player in title game history to score 30 points and hit at least five 3-point field goals.

It started early, as DiVincenzo poured in 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He absolutely took the game over, sparking a 37-28 halftime lead and a mob of positive reactions on social media.

But the Michael Jordan of Delaware wasn’t finished yet. He would add another 13 points in the second half, finishing with 31 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Villanova won by the blowout score of 79-62, and there’s no doubt that DiVincenzo was the player of the game.
