David Price appears to be okay after Wednesday’s early exit

Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price exited Wednesday’s start against the New York Yankees after only one inning, complaining about numbness in his left hand. One day later, all appears well for the former Cy Young Award winner.

That is certainly a welcome sight to the Red Sox.

After Wednesday’s game, Price explained what happened.

“My hand never really warmed up,” Price said, per Scott Lauber of ESPN. “My arm felt fine. My arm felt really good. I had no clue where [the ball] was going.”

He added (per Lauber) that he “had no pain.”

A numb hand would explain a lot. After starting the year with two great starts, Price had a rough outing on Wednesday. In only one inning, he allowed four runs on three hits with two walks.

The Red Sox eventually lost the game — which included a huge brawl — 10-7.
