Warriors’ Kevin Durant out Friday with rib injury

Kevin Durant

The G-League’s Santa Cruz Warriors might want to make their to Oakland for the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Sacramento Kings Friday night. Why? Well, because multiple members of that minor league team could be called to action.

With both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson out to injury, we can now add former MVP Kevin Durant to the list of inactives. Durant has been ruled out for the game with a rib injury he suffered Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Without their three best players, the Warriors will look to defeat a lesser Kings team and remain in contention for the top spot out west moving forward. They are currently two games behind Houston for the No. 1 seed with a few handful of games remaining in the regular season.

The good news here is that Durant’s injury seems to be minor. Thompson is out for a while after suffering a broken thumb. Meanwhile, Curry won’t be evaluated again until next week. Both will likely be out for at least the next four or five games.
