Stephen Curry doesn’t think he’ll need ankle surgery after season

Stephen Curry has a history of ankle issues, and he’s just now coming back from an injury that has kept him out for a while now. However, the Golden State Warriors point guard isn’t anticipating a surgical repair this summer.

Objectively speaking, Curry’s ankle injuries are troublesome. His first two seasons as a professional were somewhat derailed, costing him money on his first veteran contract. Since then, he’s been able to be a bit more consistently healthy, but still he continues to turn his ankles. He missed 11 games in December and has managed to play in just 50 games total this season.

Obviously the big deal for Curry and the Warriors is that he’s healthy during the playoffs — the team has more than enough firepower to get by without him for stretches of time. But if he continues to tweak his ankle on a regular basis one has to wonder if another surgery won’t at some point be needed.
