Report: Seahawks don’t expect to trade Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas is one of the men who could become the 2017 NFL Comeback Player of the Year

The Seattle Seahawks are in the midst of blowing up their “Legion of Boom.” But, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, moving safety Earl Thomas is now not in the Seahawks’ plans.

This makes sense. Thomas is one of the core players on defense, and prior to making a comment about playing for the Dallas Cowboys, the 28-year-old safety had reportedly committed to Seattle.

Per Rapoport, it would take something major to get the Seahawks to trade Thomas.

But with the Seahawks reportedly moving on from cornerback Richard Sherman and trading defensive end Michael Bennett, the unexpected can happen.

Thomas was a 14th-overall pick by Seattle in 2010. In his eight seasons playing for the Seahawks, Thomas has recorded 662 combined tackles, 25 interceptions, 66 defended passes and three touchdowns.

When healthy, he is a nightmare for opposing offenses. Thomas is signed through the 2018 season where, reportedly for now, he will remain a Seahawk.
