Ryan Grant reportedly set to sign with the Colts

After failing his physical with the Baltimore Ravens late last week, it appears that former Washington Redskins wide receiver Ryan Grant has found a home.

According to NFL Media’s James Jones, Grant will head to Indianapolis to sign a free agent contract with the Colts.

After signing tight end Eric Ebron earlier in the week, Indianapolis is hitting the secondary free agent market to find Andrew Luck yet another target.

Grant, 27, recorded 84 receptions for 985 yards and six touchdowns in four seasons with the Redskins. He’ll be tasked with replacing the recently departed Donte Moncrief, who signed with the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Grant situation is interesting in that he had agreed to a lucrative long-term contract with Baltimore before failing a physical last week. Almost immediately after failing said physical, the Ravens showed interest in Michael Crabtree. They ultimately signed Crabtree just a day later.

Grant’s body of work in D.C. doesn’t seem to be that great. Though, it’s readily apparent he was a hot commodity on the free agent market. Whether that leads to more production in Indianapolis than what we saw in Washington remains to be seen.
