Report: Richard Sherman to visit with the Lions

Richard Sherman Seattle Seahawks

Less than 24 hours after being officially released by the Seattle Seahawks, Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman is already drawing a ton of interest.

He’s currrently meeting with the San Francisco 49ers’ brass and will undergo a physical with the team.

Should a signing not happen before Sherman leaves Santa Clara, his next visit will reportedly be with the Detroit Lions.

Detroit would be a very intriguing landing spot for Sherman. The team has a talented corner in Darius Slay. Lining up a future Hall of Famer opposite him would do wonders for the team’s defense.

Of course, this is all dependent on Sherman actually leaving Northern California without a contract. He took to Twitter on Saturday to provide an update on his free agency.

That makes it sounds like his tour will extend beyond the 49ers.

Sherman, 29, is coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him miss seven games with an Achilles injury. He has since undergone surgery on his other Achilles. Health will surely play a role in the type of contract Sherman receives in free agency.
