Report: Military official advised Ravens against signing Colin Kaepernick in 2017

Colin Kaepernick

According to TMZ Sports, the Baltimore Ravens consulted with a high-ranking U.S military official when they considered signing free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2017.

The report says that this official advised head coach John Harbaugh to “seriously consider” if Kaepernick’s anthem protests would go against the team’s “core values.” Per TMZ, the official never directly said to not sign Kaepernick, but advised that the Ravens head coach set guidelines he would have to adhere to in order to “keep his job.”

Since the Ravens decided not to sign Kaepernick, we will never know how things could have played out in Baltimore for him.

As it stands, Kap remains a free agent. He last suited up with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 and asked to be released after the conclusion of that season.
