Colts using injured QB Andrew Luck to pump up ticket sales

Andrew Luck

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck missed the entire 2017 season and the team went into the tank without him. Folks are probably leery about investing in season tickets for 2018.

Not wanting this to be an issue in 2018, the Colts are reportedly using Luck to promote ticket sales. The organization held Town Hall on Feb. 20 when they video-cast a recording of Luck addressing the public. Luck was reportedly out of town and could not personally attend.

“I know in my heart of hearts I’m going to be a better thrower, a better quarterback, a better teammate and a better Colt because of what I’m going through, what I’ve been through and will continue to go through,” Luck said, via Zak Keefer of The Indy Star.”

Again on Feb. 28, general manager Chris Ballard told the media that he did not have “any doubt” that Luck would not be ready for the season opener.

This is going all-in considering it is not known when Luck will even resume throwing. For those Colts fans convinced that Luck will be under center in September, the last day for ticket renewals is March 8.

Soon enough, OTAs will be here. Luck and the brass are busy promoting a team that might be relying on its backup quarterback again. Luck last threw a football professionally in December of 2016.
