Report: Warriors among teams interested in Joakim Noah

NBA Free agent, Joakim Noah

We have no idea if the New York Knicks are going to buy out the contract of veteran center Joakim Noah. What we do know is that he has played his final game as a member of the team.

In order for Noah to be eligible for the playoffs, the Knicks would have to make a decision on a potential buyout by March 1st.

Now, according to this report from Frank Isola of the NY Daily News, the defending champion Golden State Warriors are among the teams interested in Noah should he become a free agent.

“The Warriors, Timberwolves and Thunder are three such teams that believe Noah, who turns 33 on Sunday, could bolster their respective rosters for the postseason,” Isola reports.

It’s not a secret that Golden State has been looking to upgrade its frontcourt. The combination of JaVale McGee and Zaza Pachulia have not exactly provided what the Warriors had hoped they would at center. Meanwhile, impressive rookie Jordan Bell remains sidelined to injury. Adding Noah surely would help the team from a defensive perspective inside.
