Report: Sam Bradford ‘absolutely’ wants to play in 2018

Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford on Monday Night Football

If there were any doubts about Sam Bradford wanting to continue his NFL playing career, a new report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network should put them to rest.

Speaking on this topic Thursday, Pelissero said he’s been told Bradford “absolutely” wants to play in 2018, despite making a ton of money and dealing with a ton of injuries over the course of his career.

Bradford can still play. Of that there is no doubt. He really came alive during his tenures with Philadelphia and Minnesota (away from Jeff Fisher), showing himself to be every bit the top passer the Los Angeles Rams thought they had when they drafted him No. 1 overall back in 2010.

At this stage in his career, Bradford isn’t likely to ink a lucrative long-term deal. Teams will be very cautious about their financial commitment, given his extensive injury history. That said, given the amount of need there is at the quarterback position around the NFL, Bradford will absolutely land a contract this offseason.

We’ve given it some thought and have an idea where he’d best fit, but his options are wide open.
