Nick Foles shares wisdom about his unique journey

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles

Nick Foles has a very unique story. At one point after spending a year with Jeff Fisher, he thought long and hard about just quitting football. Andy Reid convinced him to give it another go, and on Sunday he became the MVP of Super Bowl LII thanks to a masterful performance on the NFL’s biggest stage.

Afterward, Foles shared some wisdom about what he’s learned on his unique journey.

The main message here is very similar to what Michael Jordan famously said about failure: “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.”

Foles was fearless in Super Bowl LII. He played like he had nothing to lose, and the results were extraordinary. In fact, the same can be said for his entire postseason performance, which ranks right up there with the best in NFL history.

With Carson Wentz coming back following surgery to repair his knee next year, Foles’ might be on his way to another team before the 2018 campaign begins.

His wild journey is far from over, and the Eagles are reportedly open to trading him. On that note, we’ve looked into the best situations he could potentially find himself in next season, which you can read about here.
