The Philadelphia Eagles had never won a Super Bowl prior to Super Bowl LII. One of the sad realities of that is that many Eagles’ fans who are no longer with us never got to see them win it all. The father of Michael McGettigan was one such fan, having died in 2007.
But the day after Philadelphia knocked off the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, McGettigan was sure to let his dad know what happened.

We saw things similar to this with the Chicago Cubs in 2016, with one fan listening to the decisive Game 7 at his father’s gravesite. We can only imagine how many similar stories are being told in and around Philadelphia, with fans letting their departed loved ones know what happened.
It’s certainly a good reason for a visit.
