Frank Gore will definitely play in the NFL next season

Frank Gore

The ageless wonder has no plans to retire. Even at the ripe of 34, future Hall of Fame running back Frank Gore has now indicated that he will play in the NFL next season.

This comes on the heels of previous reports noting that the Indianapolis Colts don’t plan on re-signing Gore. This means that the five-time Pro Bowler will be looking for a new city to call home once free agency starts next month.

Gore also indicated that he has an idea of the teams that might be interested in his services.

A former third-round pick out of Miami, Gore played his first 10 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. Given that Carlos Hyde is slated to become a free agent and the 49ers will likely look to the draft to find a long-term option at that position, a reunion with Gore could make some sense there.

Fresh off his 12th consecutive 1,200-plus yards campaign (yeah, that’s a real thing), Gore will likely draw interest from multiple contending teams. It’s in this that he will look to earn that elusive first Super Bowl title. Despite their recent turn of good fortune, it’s unlikely the 49ers will be Super Bowl contenders next season. If Gore wants to latch on with a championship contender, a team like the New England Patriots might make more sense.

In any event, Gore plans on returning for his age-35 season. Given the short shelf life for running backs in the NFL, that’s an absolutely amazing feat.
