D’Onta Foreman pleads no contest to disorderly contest, has gun and drug charges dismissed

Texans running back D'Onta Foreman

Houston Texans running back D’Onta Foreman was arrested early in his rookie season on gun and drug charges, and now he’s come to a resolution on the matter.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Foreman pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct. By doing the deal, he had his gun and drug charges dropped, per the report.

When the news of Foreman’s arrest became public, his lawyer said that he was a kid who was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.” Foreman himself said the gun he had in his possession was legal and that the weed found in the car was not his. Additionally, his lawyer said that Foreman passed a drug test afterward as a means to prove the weed was not his.

It’s not a given Foreman will face any league discipline for this matter, and his lawyer believes the NFL will not suspend his client, per McClain. Foreman is a first-time offender and the disorderly conduct plea he copped to is relatively minor.

As a rookie, he rushed for 327 yards and two touchdowns, adding 83 yards on six receptions before suffering a season-ending injury.
