After spending one year at Florida Atlantic, Chris Kiffin, brother of head coach Lane Kiffin, is reportedly leaving for a job in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports reports Kiffin will be the Pass Rush Specialist for the 49ers in 2018.

Kiffin has spent one year in the NFL previously, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an intern back in 2007. He’s spent the rest of his coaching career in the college ranks, coaching at Idaho, Nebraska, USC, Arkansas State, Ole Miss and FAU.

Kiffin really turned the Owls around in his first year coaching FAU’s defense in 2017. Now the up-and-coming 49ers have landed yet another promising asset, and they should be one of the more entertaining NFL teams to watch in 2018.
