Chiefs’ Travis Kelce compares new Bears head coach to Doug Pederson

The Chicago Bears will be coached by Matt Nagy who was last the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator in 2017. After a productive year working with Nagy, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had these comments to share. Along the way, Kelce gave Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson a sweet shout-out.

“I think Matt’s a hell of a coach,” Kelce said, via the the Chicago Bears official website. “I think he could be Doug Pederson 2.0, to be honest, especially with the quarterback.”

That is a pretty awesome compliment. This is taking into consideration Kelce also worked with Pederson from 2013-15 when he was the offensive coordinator for the Chiefs.

As for Nagy, he most recently worked with quarterback Alex Smith who achieved a career-high 104.7 quarterback rating and helped advance the Chiefs to the playoffs.

We also need to circle back to Kelce’s comment about the Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky. If he thrives in his second year just as Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz did, then Kelce’s comparison between Nagy and Pederson would be accurate.

The task at hand for the Bears would be to keep winning more games. If Nagy proves to be a natural in Chicago, this could definitely start happening in 2018.
