Broncos QBs aware of team’s interest in Kirk Cousins

Things in Denver are about to get interesting once the Broncos are able to pursue quarterback Kirk Cousins or any other free agents, starting March 14.

Though, this has not stopped Broncos players from trying to make a push for a new quarterback. All the while, the Broncos current quarterbacks, who are not deaf or blind, know what is going on around them. Their time as starters for Denver has come to an end. Quarterback Trevor Siemian commented on the situation.

“It’s understandable,’’ Siemian said, per Mike Klis of 9News.com. “We won five games last year. In this league playing quarterback, you’re judged on wins and losses. I get it. It’s part of the deal.”

Impending free agent Brock Osweiler also chimed in with this.

“Players, coaches, teammates, everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion,’’ Osweiler said. “The beautiful thing about being able to live in this country is not only are you entitled to your opinion, but you can speak it.”

Between Siemian and Osweiler, the pair shared in 14 starts. Second-year quarterback Paxton Lynch received two starts. The result was five total wins for a Broncos team that finished in last place in the AFC West.

After such a horrific season, GM John Elway said that finding a new quarterback would be a top priority. You think? The team reportedly will plan to place Siemian up for trade. If that doesn’t work out he’ll likely be released.

And, there is no way the Broncos are going to re-sign Osweiler. Lynch would then be the only quarterback of the three left standing.

Meanwhile, other Broncos’ players will likely keep campaigning for Cousins, who is the clear cut No. 1 option out there.
