Kenny Britt to Hue Jackson and the Browns: ‘Dilly dilly’

Kenny Britt

A fortunate turn of events took wide receiver Kenny Britt out of a winless Cleveland Browns team and sent him to a powerful New England Patriots dynasty.

Britt was released by the Browns and quickly picked up off waivers in mid-December by the Patriots. He has only been a Patriot for a short time, but it is enough that Britt has practically erased his memory of life as a Brown.

“To tell you the truth, I really don’t think about those times when I was Cleveland,” he said, per Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “Too busy getting ready for games. We’re still playing.”

Britt had something funny to say when asked about his former head coach Hue Jackson.

“Dilly dilly. That’s my response. That’s all I have for [Jackson].”

The receiver wasn’t done there. This is what he said when asked about how many teams he has played for.

“We don’t count Cleveland.”

That is pretty brash considering Cleveland dumped Britt and not the other way around. Predictably, the Patriots scrounged him up from the bottom of the barrel late in the season as a reinforcement.

But, Britt is embracing his lucky moment in the spotlight wearing his Patriots jersey.

“Look at me.”

Britt suited up for three regular season games with New England, and he tallied two catches for 23 yards.

He didn’t play one snap in either of the Patriots two postseason games. But, whether he touches the ball or not this Sunday, he is in the running to earn his first Super Bowl ring should the Patriots win. Like it or not.
