Answering the bell in a major way, true freshman quarterback Jake Fromm completed an 80-yard touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman in the third quarter Monday night.

Alabama’s true freshman, Tua Tagovailoa had just engineered the first touchdown-scoring drive for the Crimson Tide. Then the ‘Bama special teams unit pinned Georgia deep on the kickoff return. None of that mattered to Fromm. The Georgia quarterback, on 3rd-and-11, found Hardman down the right sideline on a strike that went for six points after review.

Georgia was charged with a penalty for sideline interference, but the touchdown stood. It put Georgia up 20-7 and was the biggest play of the game to this point.
