USC thanks Sam Darnold with awesome tribute video

Sam Darnold

USC quarterback Sam Darnold might not have been able to lead his program to a national title in two seasons under center, but he’ll go down as one of the better quarterbacks in program history.

On Wednesday, Darnold announced that he was forgoing his final two seasons with the Trojans and entering the 2018 NFL Draft (more on that here).

One day later, the Trojans found it in themselves to release this pretty awesome tribute video paying homage to the signal caller.

Taking over as a starter during his redshirt freshman season, Darnold proceeded to win nine consecutive games after losing his initial start, including an epic Rose Bowl victory over Penn State. He then led USC to an 11-3 mark and a Cotton Bowl appearance this season.

Darnold, who projects as the likely No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, finished his career with the Trojans having thrown 57 touchdowns compared to 22 interceptions.
