Report: Tyreke Evans’ time with the Grizzlies appears to be over

As the Memphis Grizzlies look for a potential trade partner and destination for veteran Tyreke Evans, the former NBA Rookie of the Year will not suit up with the team. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies will sit Evans while trade discussions resume. That starts Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers.

There was a report earlier in the week that Evans might be headed to the Boston Celtics in a trade. While that has yet to come to fruition, they join a whole host of other teams showing interest in the wing.

The 28-year-old former first-round pick is in the midst of a career season that’s seeing him average 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. He’s also shooting at a tremendous 39 percent mark from distance.

Playing under a one-year, $3.3 million contract, Evans is a highly sought-after option on the trade block heading into next week’s deadline. It now looks like he’ll indeed be moved and has played his final game with Memphis.
