Report: Pistons engaged in serious talks to acquire Blake Griffin

The Detroit Pistons might be on the verge of making that huge blockbuster trade that could shake up the foundation of the NBA’s Eastern Conference

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Detroit is in serious discussions with the Los Angeles Clippers about acquiring All-Star forward Blake Griffin.

At this point, there are no other details regarding what would be one of the biggest in-season trades in recent NBA history. It is possible that All-Star snub Andre Drummond is involved in said discussions, especially considering the salaries seem to align there.

If a potential deal does not include Drummond, a whole plethora of pieces and picks would have to head Los Angeles’ way.

Detroit currently finds itself at 22-26 on the season and as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference. The injury-plagued Clippers are also the ninth seed out west, boasting a 25-24 mark.

Los Angeles just recently signed Griffin to the largest contract in team history this past summer. A move here would signal a dramatic shift in terms of the front office and its vision for the future.
