The Chicago Bears needed an offensive mind to take over a Mitch Trubisky-led roster, and they’ve found their guy with Matt Nagy.
According to Adam L. Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears are expected to name Nagy the head coach Monday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed the report.
Nagy has spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs. Overall, he has 10 years of coaching experience at the NFL level, all of which has come under Andy Reid.
Additionally, Nagy was a quarterback at Delaware and in the Arena Football League. His history on the offensive side of the ball must’ve been viewed as a major selling point for the Bears, since Trubisky as a rookie established himself as the quarterback of the future.
Nagy is the second head-coaching hire of the offseason, following the Oakland Raiders bringing Jon Gruden back.
