LeBron James congratulates himself for nearing 30,000 points

LeBron James needs only seven points to join the 30,000-point club, and the Cleveland Cavaliers star is ready for the adoration. Apparently, The King wants to get out ahead of the praise.

In a post on Instagram, James congratulated himself in advance for joining the elite club of scorers.

On Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs will host LeBron and the Cavs. Barring injury or a disastrous shooting night, James will join Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Dirk Nowitzki as the only players in NBA history to reach 30,000 in a career.

Julius Erving also hit the mark, though he scored 11,662 points in the ABA.

Reactions to the post are surely split, but there’s no sense in arguing about it. James is one of the greatest players in NBA history, and the upcoming accomplishment will be a special moment. He’s allowed to recognize it, too.
