Jabari Parker hopes to return two weeks before All-Star Game

Jabari Parker’s long recovery from a left ACL tear is almost over, and the Milwaukee Bucks forward has a general return date in mind.

According to Scott Grodsky of CBS 58, Parker said he’s planning to make his season debut about two weeks before the All-Star Game.

“It’s probably in that area. We just have to see how I keep doing with my pickup games.”

The showcase will take place Feb. 18, and the Bucks have 14 contests between now and then. Exactly two weeks before the All-Star Game, Milwaukee will embark on a four-game road trip. If Parker’s unofficial timeline is accurate, he’ll be available somewhere during that stretch.

Parker’s return will boost the roster, though he’ll provide a considerably larger impact on the offensive end. The Duke product still needs to improve on defense, and two ACL injuries in three NBA seasons certainly haven’t helped his development.

However, the Bucks are jockeying for playoff position in the Eastern Conference. They’ll happily deal with Parker’s defensive deficiencies if he supplies a consistent offensive impact alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe.
