Drew Bledsoe and Fred Taylor to serve as honorary captains for AFC Championship Game

The New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars will have a couple special additions on the field for the opening toss of the AFC Championship Game. The Patriots will have Drew Bledsoe serving as an honorary captain, while the Jaguars will feature their all-time rushing leader, Fred Taylor.

As noted by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, it’s funny that Taylor also played for the Patriots the final two years of his fabulous career.

The kickoff for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game is scheduled to commence at 3:05 p.m. ET. The Patriots are favored to win by just over a touchdown, and despite an injury to his throwing hand Tom Brady has reportedly been slinging it in practice, so that’s not likely to be the huge storyline many have pegged it to be.

However, if Brady does struggle, he can be comforted by the fact that the man he ultimately replaced way back in the day has already made it clear he is ready to play should the need arise.
