Bruce Arians: Replacing Jon Gruden on ‘MNF’ would be ‘dream job’

Some have suggested that former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians would be a tremendous replacement for Jon Gruden, who is now the head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Consider Arians a big fan of that idea.

Speaking with Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, Arians gushed over the idea he could be the color analyst on “Monday Night Football.”

“Oh gosh, I’d be interested,” Arians said. “I don’t think they’re interested in me. But that would be like the dream job, especially working with someone as good as Sean (McDonough). That’d be fun. That’s obviously a home run.”

For what it’s worth, ESPN might already have its sights set on another person to replace Gruden, which you can read about here.

Still, Arians would be a very fun guy to have in the booth. Obviously, he knows how to break down what’s happening on the field, being a longtime NFL coach. He also has quite the dynamic personality, which has been a source of amusement to the media for years now. He’s a no-nonsense kind of guy who’d likely be television gold.

Time will tell what ESPN ends up doing to fill the vacancy left by Gruden. Clearly, the network could do a lot worse than Arians.
