Eliot Wolf has become a popular name as a potential NFL general manager, but the Green Bay Packers passed over their in-house candidate in their search to replace Ted Thompson. Now, Wolf is moving on.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Wolf has accepted a four-year deal to join the Cleveland Browns front office.
The son of former Packers GM Ron Wolf, the younger Wolf joined the organization in 2004 and has held several roles in the personnel department. Since 2016, he has served as the director of football operations for the NFC North power.
Wolf will join a Cleveland personnel department headed by John Dorsey, who spent 21 years in the Green Bay front office — and one in Seattle — prior to landing his first GM job with the Kansas City Chiefs. He and Wolf worked together from 2004-2012.
