Eagles using underdog status as rallying cry

Can Nick Foles lead the Eagles in Carson Wentz's stead?

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC, they are still considered the underdog team this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons.

With that being said, there are actually signs posted throughout their facility reminding the Eagles of this fact.

Instead of this getting the team down, the Eagles are using the signs to rally as they prepare to defy this weekend’s odds.

The Eagles were dealt a huge gut punch when they lost their starting quarterback Carson Wentz to a torn ACL in Week 14. Unfortunately, the timing of Wentz’ injury did not give backup Nick Foles much playing time to get up to speed.

In his first complete game under center in Week 15, Foles’ performance was tremendous. He passed for 237 yards and four touchdowns. But the following week Foles’ performance earned him a lowly 59.4 quarterback rating. He also struggled in limited action in Week 17.

Sadly, the Eagles are no sure bet to win against a Falcons team that just upset the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round.

The situation for the Eagles is what it is. Though, perhaps the team can use all of the negativity as fuel to flip the tables this weekend.
