During the third quarter of Sunday’s Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers game, Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis issued a dirty hit on Packers receiver Davante Adams. It’s the type of hit that got JuJu Smith-Schuster suspended a game, though at least Davis did not stand over his opponent taunting him afterward.
Here’s a look at the dirty hit, which was made after Aaron Rodgers threw an interception.

Davis led with the crown of his helmet and hit Adams in the side of the head while the receiver was looking the other way. It’s the kind of hit the NFL has made a point of legislating out of the game.
The reactions on social media were strongly against Davis here.

If you don't believe that Thomas Davis hit Adams exactly as he intended, you're not paying attention.

Actually, Thomas Davis may avoid suspension. Juju's post -hit antics might have been what cost him.

How was Thomas Davis not ejected for that blatant helmet to helmet cheap shot on Davante Adams?

HITS to the head, like #ThomasDavis just delivered on #DavonteAdams, that directly aim towards a players head (not when a player moves or the hit 'slides' up TO the head) should be an ejection. #NFL #GBvsCAR
