News broke on Sunday that the New York Mets were potentially shopping pitcher Matt Harvey. Now, we have an idea as to what they might want as a return.
According to a report, the Mets are discussing a trade with the Texas Rangers that would send Harvey to Texas and second baseman Jurickson Profar to New York.
Matt Harvey for Jurickson Profar has been discussed. Nothing firm.

This would certainly be a trade involving two struggling but talented players hoping to revive their careers in a new environment.
Harvey was once one of baseball’s best, young pitchers. But the last two seasons have been difficult on him. Over the last two seasons, Harvey has posted a 5.78 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, with 6.9 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
Profar, meanwhile, has struggled to even find the field in Texas. He’s taken only 633 MLB at-bats since breaking into the league in 2012. In those at-bats, he’s hit 12 home runs and slashed at .229/.309/.329.
