Report: Dolphins, Jarvis Landry have talked extension

Jarvis Landry

The Miami Dolphins are going to have to address a bunch of different things this offseason in order to get back to the playoffs after a down 2017 campaign. But it sure would help if the team could lock up No. 1 receiver Jarvis Landry here soon.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the two sides have recently talked extension. Though, things now appear to be at a standstill.

A second-round pick back in 2014, Landry has put up historical numbers thus far in his career. In 15 games heading into this week’s season finale, the LSU product has tallied 103 receptions for 895 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s now put up the most receptions in NFL history over the course of a player’s first four seasons.

A true possession receiver if there ever was one, it will be interesting to see how Landry’s market plays out during the spring. He’s set to become a free agent in March if the two sides don’t come to terms on an extension. And there will be plenty of teams ready to back up the Brink’s truck for him.
